Parliamentarians from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called for stronger collective action to protect Islamic cultural heritage and combat Islamophobia during a high-level meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The discussions took place during the 12th meeting of the Standing Specialized Committee on Cultural Affairs, Legal Affairs, and Dialogue Among Civilizations and Religions, held on the sidelines of the 20th Session of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States.
The meeting was chaired by Azerbaijani lawmaker Kamal Jafarov and focused on safeguarding religious institutions, promoting dialogue among civilizations, and addressing growing concerns about anti-Muslim discrimination and prejudice around the world.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among OIC member states to protect shared cultural and religious values and advance the interests of the Islamic world.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee adopted several resolutions aimed at enhancing efforts in these areas.
