According to the Islamic Foundation Netherlands (ISN), Dutch authorities have launched an investigation following an attack on a mosque in Rotterdam on Thursday night.
Reports indicate that six unidentified individuals targeted the Mevlana Mosque. The attackers damaged the mosque’s mosaic wall, threw beer bottles at the building, and urinated on an exterior wall before fleeing the scene.
Mosque officials said they contacted police several times during the incident, but officers arrived only after the suspects had left.
The Islamic Foundation Netherlands stated that the attack has heightened fear and anxiety among worshippers, particularly amid growing concerns over incidents targeting Muslims and mosques. The organization has also questioned the police response, filed a formal criminal complaint, and urged authorities to treat the case as a priority.
No arrests have been announced.
